Getting one website indexed in Google is a
job in itself. If you try to get dozens of sites
indexed, this could take a very long time. I
have a very good short cut for you and this is

Choosing the
Right Domain Name.
Now, you have to start somewhere so pick a
site, any site. It really doesn't matter if you
are familiar with the subject or not. The
important thing is to start. There will be many
websites that you will no little about. There
will be websites that you know a lot about. They
will all compliment each other in a very good
way so just get started...
There are three options for you to choose
from with your first site. All work equally
good, you decide which one you prefer.
- Make a portal type site to link all your

- Put one site up and add links to the
bottom of that site and all other sites to

- Put up a store front of some sort and
add links to all your other sites in a side
bar as I did in
thisoldhippie.com

With option 1, you will add a list of
topics to your portal page to link all
your sites together. |

With option2, you link all sites
together using a link box at the end of
each site page. These can easily be added to your footer which is a server
side include in Ready Made Websites.
This means you add the link once in each
site and it is on every page in your

Option 3 is for the more advanced user
since it will require you create a store
front first. If you already have a store
front, this will work great for you. |

All 3 options will work just fine. The one
you use will depend on your abilities. If you
are just starting out and know little about
website design, your best bet is option 2. You
will not have to create any page code of your
own to use this option.
Which ever option you decide to use, you will
not be glued to it for life. You can always
change your technique as you become more
comfortable with html code. The main idea here
is to get all your sites linked together so when
one gets indexed, the rest will follow along.
Why not stop with
only one site?
With the internet, the world is your
audience. There are people from all different
walks of life and they have many different
interests. If you put one website up on one
subject, you will find some people who are
interested in your site.
If you have two different sites, you will
double the number of people who will want to
visit your sites. Consider the number of people
who will be interested in your information if
you have 100 websites.
How will they find
your sites?
This is the big key here. With one main
domain name you will easily get your site
indexed using the information found in this
knowitallaffiliates site. Soon your sub-domains
will get indexed and you will start getting
visitors to many different sites all based on
the same domain.
As far as Alexa is concerned, this is all one
site. All your site visits will be counted as
one site.
What is Alexa?
- Alexa is a search engine that ranks web
sites according to site traffic.
- Alexa is a standard that webmasters and
search engines use to decide whether a
website is important or not.
- The lower your Alexa rating is, the more
important your site is.
- Google is rated as 3 with Alexa. Yahoo
is #1. MySpace is #6.
- Any website with an Alexa rating of
100,000 or lower is considered an authority
site.
If we go back to the original, one site.
Let's say you get 100 visits a day. Alexa will
rate your site's visits along with the billions
of other sites out there that get 100 or so
visits each day. If you have a second site that
is on a separate domain that is also getting 100
visits each day, it will be ranked the same as
the first site.
If both these sites are on the same domain,
Alexa will see this as one site getting 200
visits. Now you are getting ranked with the
sites that are getting 200 visits each day. Much
better ranking.
Think of the possibilities with 50 or 100
websites.
A Real Life Case
Study:
At the time of this writing,
KnowitallAffiliates has an Alexa rating of
175,757. This is a site that I work hard on. I
am always adding new content and constantly
advertising to get new visitors.
ThisOldHippie.com is another site of mine. I
use it to show my demo sites for the Ready Made
Websites. I do nothing to advertise this site. I
have not even added keywords or description to
the demo sites. This site has an Alexa rating of
151,623.
Even though I put a lot more effort into
KnowitallAffiliates, ThisOldHippie has a better
rating. This is because there are so many
different sub-domains with many different
subjects all listed under this one domain name.
